Arts at NNC
NNC provides arts programming that fosters both individual growth and community resiliency. Our model for community engagement blends art, science and dialogue to facilitate robust, inclusive community learning that can be applied to everyday life. This art-infused approach focuses on creative self-expression and a sharing of knowledge. The process offers fresh ways to communicate, problem solve and inform personal and community values and choices. The center’s four gallery spaces host a variety of solo and group exhibits throughout the year. NNC works in partnership with regional organizations to further promote the arts within the community

On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, crossing over the United States and the sun will be blocked completely in some locations. In Easton we will have almost (but not a total) solar eclipse with a 0.985 magnitude peaking at around 3:18 pm. A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth and the sky will darken as if it were dawn or dusk. Join us at NNC the days before the eclipse to learn about it and how to safely view it wherever you are. Eclipse glasses and materials to make pinhole projectors will be provided.
*During an eclipse, it is never safe to look directly at the Sun without specialized eye protection designed for solar viewing

Plastic seems to be ubiquitous – wrapped around the products we buy and the food we eat, on the side of the road and in our waterways. What is the toll of all this plastic and what can we do to lessen the impact? This Science on a Sphere program will dive into the impact of plastic on the environment and how plastic ends up in the middle of the ocean. After the program, visit the Insidious Plastics exhibit showing in NNC’s art galleries (created through the Perspectives program).
